Chicago Foreman's Mike McCall has begun to shape his college list in hopes of offering up a verbal committment in the near future. Although the six-foot-one guard has been overshadowed during his high school career by fellow 2010 guard Lavonte Dority, there is a growing number of basketball fans and analysts who who believe that ultimately, McCall may be the better player.
During this past summer, McCall starred on the Illinois Heat AAU squad, and was named by Illinois Prep Bullseye as their biggest stock raiser though the first part of July. McCall's game is well versed, as he is great scorer, who can drop it in from deep, or create his own shot. Playing with Dority, McCall has spent much of his time playing off the ball, but his point guard abilities are underrated and have continue to improve. Defensively, McCall possess very quick hands and is accustomed to getting a handful of steals per game. McCall is slight in build and would benefit from some work in the weight room to add some muscle mass.
Indiana State and Illinois State are McCall's current leaders, because both school "tell me that I'm their number 1 guy." Considering that, and the fact that McCall is looking for a place where he can be considered the face of the program, both schools fit the bill. Additionally, Nevada, Texas A&M, California and Central Florida are all on his list.
McCall expects to have his decision made by no later than the start of the season. Academically, McCall is almost as good in the classroom as he is on the court. |
