Hlllcrest High School has recently put of some quality players, in Jerel McNeal and Maurice Acker. Currently, the Hawks have two talents in six-foot-four Eric Gaines, who recently offered up a verbal committment to Kent State, and Darren Tillman, a six-foot-six athletic forward. Tillman is looking to join his teammate is finding a strong program to play ball for after high school.
Currently Tillman's scouting report has been that he more of an athlete than a basketball player, but that is something Tillman has really work on changing. Over the course of this AAU season, Tillman has shown himself to be a prospect that use his athletic attributes to benefit his team. Additionally, he has developed solid range on his shot, as he can step out to sixteen feet with ease. At two hundred ten pounds, Tillman can use his strength against other small forwards, and with his quickness, he is a bit of a match-up nightmare for bigger forwards.
Currently, Tillman states he is hearing from Air Force, Bradley, Kennesaw State, Lehigh, Mercer, Northwestern, North Dakota State, Oakland, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.Tillman previously was seen by some as a player whose best future may be in football or track, but Tillman is doing a solid job of showing that his future lies in basketball, which is his preference. |
