Six-foot-ten Waverly Austin has seen his recruitment really pick up after reclassifying to 2010 and deciding to make the move to Maine Central Institute after playing at God's Academy in Texas previously. The post player makes the move from the warm weather of Florida to Maine this upcoming weekend. His best games are still to come, as he continue to shake the label of a high ceiling, but raw prospect. At MCI, Austin will look to improve all facets of his game, with the most attention paid to adding some more muscle mass, as well as improving his explosiveness. Provided he is able to achieve that, a school could be added a fast-improving phenom.
Austin paid a visit to South Florida on an unofficial visit this month, and has rave reviews about it. South Florida, as well as Cincinnati, has extended offers to Austin. Additionally, Indiana, Florida State, TCU, SMU, West Virginia, Louisville, Maryland, Virginia, Central Florida, Texas A&M, George Washington, Temple, Florida International, Georgetown, Marquette and Houston have all been keeping in contact with Austin and continue to evaluate him. Although he has attracted interest and offers, Austin states he is still wide open, but he does have two official visits lined up; Cincinnati and South Florida. Austin is planning on making his college destination in November. |
